What is meant by QSECOFR authorisation?
The IBM Power Systems operating system provides the highest level of security for managing sophisticated business processes and data-intensive workflows.
The security architecture implemented in the operating system is characterised, among other things, by various user profiles and passwords. The user profile QSECOFR has the highest authorisations, such as object ownership characteristics, special authorisations and a variety of other settings and parameters. This means that the user "QSECOFR" has the highest priority in the iSeries, because he has access to almost all data in the iSeries as well as to many system-related functions that only he is allowed to execute. This applies to all users "QSECOFR" or to the users with the user class *SECOFR.
This master user profile must be handled with the utmost care with regard to security. In a company, only a few selected persons should therefore have QSECOFR authorisations or the password.
